Cylinder head — disassembly (Nissan Qashqai J10)

1. Place the cylinder head on a special disassembly stand [KV113BO200 (Mot. 1573) or equivalent].

Caution: Observe the rules for maintaining cleanliness when working with components of the diesel injection system.

2. Remove the high pressure fuel pump with the corresponding parts.

3. Remove the fuel injectors and glow plugs.

4. Remove the vacuum pump and the cooling system outlet with the thermostat assembly.

5. Remove the front engine lifting eye, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) components, intake air duct and exhaust manifold.

6. Remove the camshaft toothed pulley.

7. Remove the camshaft covers.

8. Mark the location and then remove the valve lifters.



9. Compress the valve springs using a special device, then remove the valve crackers and plates, as well as the valve springs.

Note: Before removing the valves and valve stem seals, it is imperative to measure the "H" position of one of the old valve stem seals relative to the cylinder head using a special tool [KV113B0180 (Mot.1511-01) or equivalent].

10. Install the rod (A) of the device (KV113B0180 (Mot. 1511-01) or similar) on the oil deflector cap.

Note: The inside diameter of the stem must be identical to the diameter of the valve stem. In addition, the bottom of the stem must contact the metal section of the oil seal.

11. Install the guide tube (B) through the rod until it touches the cylinder head, securing the rod with the locking screw.



12. Remove the guide tube assembly with the rod, being careful not to loosen the lock screw.

13. Remove the valves and valve stem seals using a special puller (KV113B0090 (Mot. 1335) or similar).
