Removal
1. Raise the vehicle and remove the wheels.
2. Activate the steering column lock.
3. Remove the intermediate shaft mounting bolt from the steering gear and separate the shaft from the steering gear.
4. Remove the steering rod from the steering knuckle. If it is difficult to remove, press it out using a ball joint puller (suitable special tool).
Caution: To avoid damaging the threads and the puller slipping off, tighten the lock nut by hand.
5. Remove the front exhaust pipe (on models with CR engine). See chapter Accelerator, fuel system and exhaust system.

6. Loosen the steering gear mounting nuts and bolts and remove the steering gear from the vehicle on the right side of the vehicle (Remove from the left side on left-hand drive models, from the right side on right-hand drive models) (see fig.).
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following: Tighten the bolts and nuts to the required torque.
