2. Install the gear and reverse clutch.
3. Install the balls, spring, and threaded bushing of the reverse gear detent.
4. Check the moment of resistance of the latch (on the gear selector). If the moment is not within the limits specified in section «Data for adjustments and control», install a threaded sleeve of a different length. Available bushings are listed in the same section. Before final installation of the sleeve, apply a locking compound to its threads.
5. Install the bushing, ball and detent spring.
6. Install the oil pocket.
7. Install the shafts and differential into the clutch housing as described below.
For RS5F30A:
Install the differential and reverse idle gear.
Simultaneously install the input and output shafts by engaging their gears. When installing the shafts, be careful not to damage the input shaft oil seal and oil passage.
Attach the bearing holder. One of the screws has a torx head and must be tightened with a suitable tool (bent key). After tightening the torx screw, undo it at two points.
For RS5F31A:
Install the input shaft assembly and reverse idler gear. Be careful not to damage the seal with the shaft splines.
Install differential.
Install the output shaft assembly. Be careful not to damage the oil passage while doing so.
8. Lubricate the locking keys with grease and install them on the control bracket. Install the bracket together with the 1st and 2nd shift fork.
10. Install the 3/4th and 5th gear shift forks.
11. Insert the stem of the forks. Apply multipurpose grease to the stem spring before installing it
12. Install the reverse idle gear spacer.
13. Apply the recommended sealant to the clutch housing mounting surface.
14. Install the gearbox housing to the clutch housing.
15. Measure the total moment of resistance to turning the gearbox. The torque value for new bearings is given in section «Data for adjustments and control».
When reusing old bearings, the torque may be slightly less.
