Attention:
- Do not spill brake fluid on painted surfaces. If liquid is spilled, wipe it up immediately and flush the area with water.
- When removing a manual transmission from a vehicle, always replace the concentric slave cylinder (CSC). To remove the MCP, the CSC insert is moved to its original position. Dust on the sliding components of the clutch drive plate can damage the CSC seal and cause brake fluid to leak.
Removing
1. Remove the MCP. See chapter Manual Transmission.
2. Loosen the bolts and remove the concentric slave cylinder (CSC) c MCP.
Examination
Note: Concentric slave cylinder (CSC) and the release bearing cannot be disassembled. Replace them as a whole.
Check and, if necessary, replace the relevant components.
Concentric working cylinder (CSC): damage, foreign particles, wear, fine porosity on the outside of the cylinder.
Release bearing:damage, incorrect direction of rotation, misalignment, deformation or cracks in the seal.
Installation
1. Install a new CSC cylinder on the manual gearbox. Tighten to the required torque.
Tightening torque: 21 Nm (2.15 kg m)
Caution: Do not insert or actuate the CSC cylinder as the piston and stopper of the CSC components may fall out.
2. Install the manual gearbox on the vehicle. See chapter Manual Transmission.
3. Bleed the clutch tube.
