Steering knuckle assembly
1 - Swivel fist; 2 - Wheel sensor housing; 3 - Wheel bearing; 4 - Retaining ring; 5 - Hub; 6 - Drive shaft
1. Jack up the car and put it on stands. Remove the corresponding wheel.
2. Remove the lock plate from the front suspension strut and disconnect the brake hose from the strut (see chapter Brake system).
3. Remove the brake caliper from the steering knuckle and secure it to the side so that it does not interfere with work (see chapter Brake system).
Note. At the same time, do not allow the brake hose to be loaded. Do not depress the brake pedal with the caliper removed so that the piston does not come out of the brake cylinder.
4. Remove the brake disc from the hub (see chapter Brake system).
5. Pull the ABS wheel sensor out of the steering knuckle (see chapter Brake system).
Note. Do not pull on the sensor wiring.
6. Holding a nave from turning, give a nave nut.
7. Using a special puller, disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Temporarily screw the nut onto the thread of the tip
8. Remove the steering knuckle from the suspension strut.
Attention! Do not allow the drive shaft to deflect more than 22 degrees.
9. Separate the drive shaft from the steering knuckle and tie it up so that it does not fall.
Attention! Do not allow the drive shaft to deflect more than 22 degrees.
10. Give a bolt and a nut of a spherical support of a suspension bracket and disconnect the suspension bracket bracket from a rotary fist.
11. If necessary, replace the wheel bearing.
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten fasteners to the correct torque and in the correct sequence - see the relevant chapters.
