2. Separate the engine from the gearbox and install the engine on the stand (special tool) (see section "Cylinder block").
3. Remove the following parts.
Upper and lower oil pans (see section "Oil pan and coarse oil filter").
Remove the oil filter bracket (see section "Oil filter bracket" in the chapter "Lubrication system and engine cooling system").
Remove the high pressure fuel pipes (see section "High pressure fuel pipes and injectors assemblies").
4. Remove the secondary timing chain and related parts (see section "Secondary timing chain"),
5. If the rear chain cover is removed, remove the camshaft sprockets (see section "Camshafts").
6. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Shoot in the following order.
(1) Fix the crankshaft pulley with a pulley lock (special tool).

(2) Loosen the crankshaft pulley set bolt and back it out approximately 10 mm.
(3) Using a puller (special tool) remove the crankshaft pulley.
To hold the crankshaft pulley, use two M6 bolts approximately 60 mm long.

7. Remove the oil pump.
Loosen the mounting bolts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure.
Remove with a cutter (special tool).
8. Remove the front oil seal from the oil pump.
Knock out the seal with a screwdriver from the back of the oil pump.

Caution: Do not damage the oil pump.
9. Remove the chain tensioner.
Press the chain tensioner plunger and secure it with the pin.
10. Remove the timing chain guide at the point of bending.

11. Fix the fuel injection pump sprocket and unscrew the mounting bolts.
(1) Insert the lock pin into the 6mm diameter hole in the fuel injection pump sprocket.
(2) Slowly turn the injection pump shaft using a TORX key (special tool), adjust the position of the hole in the fuel injection pump sprocket.
(3) Fix the fuel injection pump sprocket by inserting the installation stopper (special tool) inside the fuel injection pump housing.

12. Remove the primary timing chain together with the fuel injection pump sprocket and crankshaft sprocket.

13. Remove the chain guides (only 3 pcs.).
14. Remove the fuel injection pump.
15. Remove the power steering pump.

16. Remove the rear chain cover.
Loosen and remove the mounting bolts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure.
