Preparatory work
Removal and installation the exhaust manifold assembly
Drain the coolant.
Remove the air cleaner and air intake tube.
Remove the intercooler.
Remove the intercooler bracket.
Remove the catalyst.
Remove the exhaust manifold cover.
Loosen the automatic transmission oil filler tube mounting bolts.
Disconnect and move aside all tubes and hoses.
Removal parts under the battery tray
Remove the engine protection from the bottom.
Remove the battery.
Remove the battery tray.
Disconnect and move aside all tubes and hoses.
Removal and installation the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly
Removal
1. Loosen the set nuts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure.
2. Turn the exhaust manifold with the turbocharger so that the rear side (eGR pipe installation side) ended up on top and remove it through the gap between the engine and the air conditioning compressor pipes.
Caution: Do not deform the turbocharger tubes.
Installation
If the threaded studs were removed, tighten them to 17.7-21.6 Nm (1.8-2.2 kg·m).
Tighten the mounting nuts in the order shown below.
- (1) Tighten the set nuts in the order shown in the figure.
- (2) Re-tighten nuts 1-4 to the required torque.
Installing the exhaust manifold gasket
Install the gasket with the protrusion towards hole No.4 (back side), see the picture above.
