Activation and deactivation of the self-diagnosis mode, mode No. 1
Note. Self-diagnosis should be carried out with the engine running.
1. To activate the self-diagnosis mode, turn off the ignition and start the engine. 10 seconds after starting, press and hold the A/C switch for at least 5 seconds.
2. Upon successful activation, all indicators and all segments of the liquid crystal display on the ventilation system control unit should turn on. This is mode #1 (checking indicators).
3. To switch between self-test modes, press the temperature adjustment buttons.
4. To activate the self-diagnosis mode, turn off the ignition or press the button «AUTO».
Mode #2 (Checking sensors)
In mode No. 2, during normal operation of all sensors, a code is displayed on the display «20». If one of the sensors is faulty (break in the chain), flashes instead of zero (once) corresponding figure. If several sensors are faulty, the corresponding digit in place of zero flashes twice, then the next digit is displayed. If a short circuit is detected, the indicator turns on additionally «AUTO».
Codes «21» ÷ «25» are displayed in case of a malfunction in the sensor circuit (respectively): outside temperature, interior temperature, evaporator temperature and sun sensor.
Mode #3 (Checking the e / motors of the damper drive)
In mode No. 3, during normal operation of all e / motors, the display shows the code «30». If one of the e / motors is faulty or a break is detected in its circuit, flashes instead of zero (once) corresponding figure. If both e/motors are faulty, the corresponding digit in place of zero flashes twice, then the next digit is displayed. If a short circuit is detected, the indicator turns on additionally «AUTO».
Codes «31» ÷ «34» are displayed in case of a malfunction in the air mixing damper e / motor circuit, and the codes «35» ÷ «38» - in case of a malfunction in the e / motor circuit of the damper of the air distribution modes (in each case in the wires from contacts 5, 2, 1 and 6 of the e / motor connector, respectively). The indicated contacts of the air mixing damper e / motor connector correspond to contacts 27, 26, 29 and 25 in the control unit connector, and the contacts of the air distribution damper e / motor connector correspond to contacts 32, 31, 37 and 38.
To reset the initial position of e / motors (it is required after they are removed) in this self-diagnostic mode, press the defroster switch. While the code «30» the airflow indicator will flash for about 9 seconds.
Mode #4 (Checking actuators)
Each subsequent press of the windshield defrost switch will cycle through the display codes «42», «42», …, «46», «41» etc. For each code, visually or aurally check the operation of the relevant components according to the table below.
Mode #5 (Sensor temperature)
Each subsequent press of the windshield defrost switch will cycle through the display: code «5», outside air temperature, interior air temperature, evaporator temperature, code «5» etc.
