Removing
Attention:
- Do not spill brake fluid on painted areas; it may damage the paintwork. If brake fluid is spilled on painted areas, wipe it off immediately and wash it off with water.
- Do not bend, twist or pull the brake hoses and tubes.
- Plug the open ends of the brake hoses and tubes when disconnecting them to prevent dust and other foreign matter from entering the brake fluid.
1. Drain the brake fluid. See section «Drain and refill».
2. Using a spanner wrench, disconnect the brake pipe from the hose.
3. Turn off a connecting bolt and disconnect a brake hose from a support in gathering.
4. At first remove lock plates from brake tubes and racks, and then disconnect a brake hose.
Installation
Attention:
- Fill with fresh Nissan Genuine Brake Fluid or «DOT 3» or «DOT 4» (US FMVSS No. 116).
- Do not mix different brands of brake fluid («DOT 3», «DOT 4»).
- Do not reuse drained brake fluid.
1. Connect the brake hose to the caliper assembly and tighten the connecting bolt to the required torque.
Tightening torque: 18 Nm (1.8 kg m)
Attention:
- Connect the brake hose securely by inserting the tab on the hose fitting into the hole in the caliper.
- Do not reuse copper washers for connecting bolts.
2. Connect a brake hose to a rack and fix a lock plate.
3. Connect the brake hose to the brake pipe, tighten the flare nuts by hand as far as possible, then secure them with a lock plate.
4. Using a torque wrench, tighten to the correct torque.
Tightening torque: 16.2 Nm (1.7 kg m)
5. Fill in with fresh brake fluid. See above section «Drain and refill».
6. Remove air. See section «Bleeding the brake system».
