Spark Plugs (with Platinum Tips) — Removal and Installation (Nissan Note E11)

Removal

1. Remove the ignition coil. See the section above "Ignition coil".

2. Remove the spark plugs using a wrench.

Caution: Do not drop or hit the spark plugs. Check after removal.

Under normal operating conditions, use standard spark plugs.

A "hot" spark plug is suitable in cases where carbon deposits form on a standard spark plug under the following operating conditions:

frequent engine starting;
low ambient temperature.

A "cold" spark plug is suitable in cases where detonation occurs when working with a standard spark plug under the following operating conditions:

long-distance motorway driving;
the engine often runs at high speed.

Spark gap (nominal): 1.1 mm

Attention:

Do not clean the spark plug with a wire brush.

If there is carbon deposits on the spark plug tip, you can use spark plug cleaner.

If there is carbon deposits on the spark plug tip, you can use spark plug cleaner.

Air pressure in the purifier: Less than 588 kPa (6 kg/cm²).

Cleaning time: Less than 20 seconds.

There is no need to check or adjust the spark gap between replacements.

Do not adjust the clearance.
