Location of instrumentation
Speedometer and tachometer
Speedometer shows the vehicle speed in km/h; tachometer shows the engine speed in thousands of rpm and is designed to control engine speed - the arrow should not enter the red zone of the scale.
Note. Upshifting earlier saves fuel and reduces engine noise. During the break-in period of the vehicle, too high revolutions of the crankshaft should be avoided.
Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge is used to visually monitor the amount of fuel remaining in the tank. The error in readings of the fuel gauge is minimal when the vehicle is in a strictly horizontal position, and increases when the vehicle is driven on winding or hilly roads. The pointer works when the ignition is on. When the pointer enters the reserve fuel zone, the corresponding K / L is turned on, and on some models a corresponding message is displayed on the multifunction display. In this case, the vehicle should be refueled as soon as possible. The arrow next to the image of the filling station under the scale of the fuel gauge indicates the side of the fuel tank filler neck.
Display in instrument cluster
The display in the instrument cluster is designed to display time, odometer and odometer data. The odometer data is shown in the top field of the display. Short (no more than a second) pressing the selection button located to the left of the display leads to the switching of the indication modes of the lower field of the display in a cyclic sequence: hours, mileage indicator A, mileage indicator B, hours. Odometer registers total mileage (km) vehicle from the moment it is put into service.
Watch
Set the clock mode using the selection button.
For switching between 12- and 24-hour mode time display briefly press the setting button. When 12-hour mode is selected, the AM indicator lights up to the right of the clock (before noon) or PM (afternoon).
For setting the current hour, press and hold the set button for at least three seconds. At the same time, the images of numbers in high-order digits (watch), delimiter (colon) and symbols AM or PM (if the watch is in 12-hour time display mode) will start flashing. Each subsequent press of the set button changes the clock by 1 hour. If you hold the button for more than one second, the clock will change at a rate of 2 hours per second. If the setting button is not pressed within 5 seconds, the watch will enter the minute setting mode.
In mode minute settings images of digits in lower digits (minutes) and separator (colon) are flashing. Depending on the duration of pressing the setting button, the readings in the digits of minutes change at different speeds (1 to 8 minutes per second). To reset the readings in digits of seconds (these digits are not displayed on the watch display) make sure that the delimiter (colon) started blinking and click on the install button. After that, the watch returns to the normal time indication mode. If the set button is not pressed within 60 seconds, the time in minutes increments by 1 minute and the clock returns to normal operation. A sign that the watch has returned to its normal time indication mode is the absence of the flashing numbers, the separator, and the AM and PM indicators.
Double mileage indicator
Dual trip mileage indicator allows you to simultaneously monitor the car's mileage, starting from two different points in time (trip A, trip B).
To reset the selected trip odometer, press the reset button (located to the right of the display) and hold it down for at least one second.
In the event of a malfunction of some systems, in addition to turning on the corresponding K / L on the multifunction display (with appropriate equipment) the corresponding message is displayed.
Control lamps and indicators
K/L and the indicators located in a combination of devices are described below.
For fault monitoring K/L and indicators, apply the parking brake and turn on the ignition. In this case, the following C/L should light up: , , , and (blue color). The following C/L lights up for a short time and then should go out: , , , (Red), , (Red), and . If any K / L does not turn on during the check, this may mean that it has burned out, or there is an open circuit in its circuit.
— K/L of the SRS system, its description is given in Section Additional security system (SRS).
- K / L malfunction of the brake system / parking brake cocking indicator. It turns on when the parking brake is applied, or when the brake fluid level drops to a critical value.
- K / L battery charge. Turning it on while the engine is running may indicate a charge system failure. Stop the engine and check the condition of the alternator drive belt. Tighten the belt if necessary. If the belt is tensioned correctly, and the K / L does not go out, check the charge system (see chapter Engine Electrical Systems and Electrical equipment diagrams).
— C/L of an open door, lights up if one of the car's doors is not closed or not closed tightly. In this case, the ignition must be switched on.
- K / L low coolant temperature (blue color) /engine overheating (Red). K / L lights up blue until the coolant warms up to a temperature of about 50 degrees, and at a coolant temperature above 108 degrees it lights up red. When you turn on the K / L overheating of the engine, you should stop as soon as possible and check the coolant level (see Section Checking fluid levels, leak control).
- K / L low pressure engine oil. If, when the car is moving under normal conditions, this K / L turns on or flashes, you should stop and check the engine oil level as soon as possible (see Section Checking fluid levels, leak control). Operating the engine with a low oil level can cause severe engine damage.
- K / L malfunction of the electric power steering (EPAS). If the K/L does not go out after the control check when the ignition is switched on, or if the car lights up while driving, the EPAS may be defective. In some cases, the inclusion of this C/L may be affected by external factors. Stop, wait about 20 seconds and turn the ignition back on. If K / L continues to burn, check the EPAS system.
Note. With a faulty power steering, the vehicle can continue to be used, however, the steering wheel will require more force than with a working EPAS system.
- K / L ignition switch (only on models with «Intelligent Key»). Warns the driver about the selected gear or AT mode (except «P») when set to position «LOCK» ignition switch. See more information in the subsection Ignition and steering wheel lock/switch.
— K/L anti-theft system NATS. Flashes when the key or ignition switch is turned to the «LOCK» or «Acc», indicating that the vehicle is equipped with NATS. See also the information in Section Anti-theft system.
- C/L of an unfastened seat belt, reminds the driver to fasten the seat belt. K / L turns on when the ignition is turned on and continues to burn until the belt in the front seat is fastened. When the front seat belt is not fastened at speeds above 25 km/h. the buzzer turns on.
- K/L (Green colour) and K/L (Red) system malfunction «Intelligent Key». The indicator turns on when the ignition switch is turned from the position «OFF» into position «Acc», if the brake pedal is pressed and the system key fob «Intelligent Key» is in the car. Pregnant «Acc» indicator goes out. If the control unit of the system «Intelligent Key» detects no battery voltage, the indicator lights up when the ignition switch is turned from the position «OFF» into position «ON». When the ignition switch is turned to position «Acc» or «ON» K / L lights up for a few seconds and then should go out, which indicates that the system is working «Intelligent Key». K / L flashes if, when set to position «Acc» or «ON» the ignition switch, move the unit out of its range (e.g. through an open window). This additionally turns on the buzzer.
- K/L ABS. Turning on the indicator while driving indicates a malfunction in the ABS system. At the same time, the working main system continues to function in the usual manner.
— C/L reserve fuel, turns on if there is a minimum amount of fuel left in the tank. Refuel as soon as possible. Avoid running out of fuel.
- K / L engine malfunction. If K/L burns constantly, the engine management system is faulty; if К/Л blinks, malfunctions in the ignition system are possible, which can lead to failure of the engine management system. In this case, to avoid or reduce the risk of damage to the engine management system, do not exceed speeds of 70 km/h, avoid sudden acceleration and braking, steep climbs, and towing a heavy trailer.
- K / L upshift lock (on models with AT). Illuminates when the overdrive switch is in the «OFF». If the AT is in emergency mode, then the next time the ignition is turned on, this K / L will turn on for 2 s and then will flash for about 8 s. Despite the fact that under these conditions the car can move under its own power, it should be remembered that the AT will constantly work in 3rd gear. AT can go into emergency mode under difficult driving conditions, even if it is fully operational. In this case, turn off the ignition and turn it on after 3 seconds. If the AT remains in emergency mode, repair it.
— R/L of turning on the rear fog lamp.
- Indicators for direction indicators and alarms.
- K / L of turning on the high beam of the headlights.
